Outsource your blocks

“Give me your first answer without overthinking—what would you do if you could do anything?”

“Host a retreat in Laos,” I blurted, without a pause.

The self-doubt was instant, tightening and heavy in my chest.
My friend and coach Caroline, who’d posed the question, noticed and followed up with another question.

“What would your role be, and who would you need on your team to make this happen?”

I breathed and said, “I’d be the facilitator, guiding the participants. I’d need someone for logistics and someone else to help with sales.”

“Great. Is there someone you have in mind who could fill the logistics role?”

“Actually, there is,” I replied, feeling a glimmer of possibility.

“Awesome. Call them now to ask.”

Hesitantly, I pulled out my phone and dialled. My heart raced as the phone rang, but to my surprise, they immediately said yes.

Eighteen months later, I’m standing in a pool on a warm, tropical day, surrounded by lush forest, at a beautiful resort in Luang Prabang, Laos.

The fresh, humid air was filled with the sounds of birds and distant rivers flowing. We were celebrating the arrival of six participants on day one of our 7-day Warrior Women Mastermind Laos retreat. My dream had become a reality because someone helped me move past my own doubts to take that first step.

Today, as an outsourced part-time head of marketing, I play that role for my clients—helping them get out of their own way by outsourcing the pieces that are holding them back.

As founders, their vision and passion often make them the best marketer on their team, but marketing strategy often makes them feel trapped.

Over time, they inadvertently become the block to progress.

If you are:

➡️ The head of a company with a strong brand and a good team of implementers

➡️ Feeling like growth is being held back because you’re missing an essential piece of the puzzle – someone who can build out your marketing at a more strategic level

➡️ Wanting someone to think through where we go from here, what initiatives we’re doing that will move the needle, and how we add some real depth to them.

➡️ Feeling like throwing more money at ads and marketing is not the answer to growth, but you never seem to have the time and space for truly creative ideas that will grow your market share to flourish.

➡️ And while you believe you should hold the vision for the company, you also know that you’re holding too tight to all the tiny details, which you know makes little sense.
